Ichigo was a very clingy child to his mother, being very attached and doing whatever she wished of him he was the happiest child on earth when he was with her, he started karate at 4 years old and still is it to this day, at age 9 he was walking with his mother in the rain from the store and he thought he saw a woman standing on a pier he thought she was going to jump so being thebut a man was down there with a gun, he knocked out Ichigo and killed Misaki who was trying to save her child. Ichigo still He believes the woman was there and does not remember the man at all; he blames himself for her death and became very closed off afterwards because of the roles his sisters had to take after the death. His father a odd man tried his best to make sure his son grew up strong and what his mother would have wanted but everyday Ichigo would get a little more upset and a little more closed off, his attitude was not really like ‘emo omg I wanna die upset’ it was more a ’I want to kill if that’s what it takes to protect my family’ but he stayed very aggressive non the less. In middle school another tragedy befell the Kurosaki Clinic run by his father, the death of a man that when Ichigo saw the mans sister crying he felt a need to make sure his sisters never had that pain like that girl had it change him more into the protector.

High school was a bitch for Ichigo, with his orange hair he was ever teased and his name being Ichigo didn’t help either he couldn’t count the times he had to explain the kanji was different, that his name meant One Guardian, or the One who Protects, not a fucking Strawberry! Non the less he had to fight and work his ass off in school most figured he would be a slacker but he made 23 of 322 students in the ranking of his school, his friends felt betrayed by this information until he explained he had nothing better to do but the work. And now with his great GPA SAT and ACT he was excepted to Cross, he waved goodbye to his sisters and his father gave him a goodbye slug in the shoulder and wished him luck in Cross University, and to make him proud.

Ichigo likes chocolate and spicy food. His favorite celebrities are Al Pacino and Mike Ness and the person he admires most is William Shakespeare. He is uncomfortable around nude or immodestly dressed women.

His name, written with homophone kanji, when separated as ichi and go, means 1 and 5 or 15, the reason behind the two numbers' frequent appearances in the series. The word ichigo, written in yet another way, actually means "strawberry" in Japanese, and is normally only used as a girl's name; when the gatekeeper Jidanbō teases Ichigo about this fact, Ichigo proudly states that his name is spelled with ichi as in "one" and go from "guardian". Ichigo's father once told him that his name means "he who protects."
